Students will be ranked during their 11th and 12th grade years at the end of each semester. Classes taken for dual credit during summer school will not be reflected on the GPA/Rank until the end of the 1st semester the following school year.
GRADUATION HONORS
Candidates for Valedictorian and Salutatorian must carry a minimum of four (4) academic credit courses during their senior year. The final two- (2) years’ work must be completed at Sabine High School. Rank in class is determined by the students’ grade point average. Class rank for the purpose of determining valedictory, salutatory and honor graduate status is calculated after the 5th six-weeks grades have been posted. College courses taken during the last semester of the senior year will not be reflected in the final ranking. College course grades are only posted at the end of the semester. At the end of the 5thsix-weeks grading period, the top two graduates and remaining honor graduates are announced. Honor graduates are those students who have earned a 4.5 grade point average or above on a 5.0 grade point scale. (see District Policy EIC)
