The First Continental Congress affected the Patriotic movement the most. It was an event where all the colonies became unified and took a stand against Great Britain. They worked together to protect each other’s collective rights. Colonists broke free away from the British, and started to try and gain independence. This was when the colonies put aside their differences, and worked together to make a petition for the liberty they wanted in the colonies. These are some examples of why the First Continental Congress probably affected the patriotic movement the most:

As a result of the Coercive Acts, the colonies put aside their individual differences and, for the first time, agreed to work together and protect their collective rights.” After the King passed the Coercive Acts, colonists got together and decided to work together and help each other out with keeping each other’s’ rights, this time, in a civilized manner. The representatives worked hard making a petition to get the King’s attention in which they would gain liberty and freedom. This was this the first time the colonies came together to help each other out because of one cause? Or was there another time when the colonists did this? This is very different from how the colonists reacted to things earlier. They would usually start riots and try fixing everything with a fracas. Now the colonists are more civilized and do things way better.

-needed to present their complaints to the British as a unified group.” This quote means that the colonists decided to work out their problems, and put their complaints together in a civilized manner. This is how all the colonists’ complaints should be… civilized, and NOT making riots because they don’t like something… I think that being civilized and doing things in an orderly fashion was really a good idea. Instead of riots, they became unified and wanted to act normally presenting their complaints. This was a good way to represent what they thought, because starting riots can end very badly… (Boston Massacre)
In Addition, Congress called for a complete boycott of all trade with England. Both exports to and imports from England would cease.” The colonists also wanted to stop trade with England, until their problems are resolved by the Parliament and King. To get their attention, they decided that they would cease the trading between England and the colonies. This was another step into taking a patriotic movement against the British, and become independent amongst them. This action showed that the colonists wanted to get the British’s attention, by not doing trades with them, and by stopping trades-importing or exporting goods. I don’t believe that this way of gathering attention was as affect as starting riots though, even though they were very horrifying.
The most moving Patriotic event was when the First Continental Congress was scheduled. People became more connected with each other, inside the 13 colonies. People became more unified, and helped each other out for a cause, in which everyone kept their collective rights.
